The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XII, led by Regional Director Loreto Jr. V. Cabaya, together with RSCC Center Head Jehanne Dari and Home for Girls and Women (HFGW) Head Rosemarie Alcebar, recently met with the Barangay Council of Tantangan to discuss the proposed expansion and renovation of the Home for Girls and Women facility. The proposed development will rise on a 1,585-square-meter titled area allocated for the facility.
This expansion aims to significantly enhance the safety, privacy, and overall well-being of its residents. Key improvements will include better separation of living spaces, upgraded facilities, and increased capacity to accommodate more clients.
These enhancements are expected to contribute to improved rehabilitation outcomes and a more secure environment for vulnerable girls and women under the center’s care.
During the meeting, discussions also focused on the improvement of road access and the establishment of a proper drainage system. These infrastructure upgrades are considered essential to ensure safe, convenient, and accessible entry to the facility for residents, staff, and service partners.
The Home for Girls and Women is one of the residential care facilities of the Department of Social Welfare and Development that provides protection, rehabilitation, and support services to vulnerable girls and women who are in need of care and protection.
