The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XII (DSWD FO XII) Tara,Basa! Tutoring Program recently convened with the City Government of Tacurong and Project Management Team (PMT) to discuss the potential replication of the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program through Technology Transfer. The meeting marked a significant step toward expanding the program’s reach, as Tacurong City formally expressed its intent to adopt and implement the initiative locally.
Leading the discussion was DSWD XII Tara, Basa! Head Melfe Ampoloquio, who presented the framework, processes, and key components of the Technology Transfer. The team highlighted the program’s accomplishments in CY 2025, where 250 learners benefited from the initiative. For CY 2026, the target has been increased to 280 beneficiaries, reflecting a strengthened commitment to improving literacy outcomes among elementary learners.
During the meeting, the Technology Transfer mechanism was thoroughly discussed, including capacity-building, program standards, and sustainability strategies. The City Government of Tacurong conveyed strong interest in pushing through with the Technology Transfer, recognizing its potential to enhance local education support systems.
Mayor Lina Montilla, PhD expressed full support for the initiative and affirmed the city’s willingness to provide the necessary resources and assistance to ensure successful implementation. With this collaborative effort, Tacurong City moves closer to becoming another local government unit championing innovative and responsive social development programs for its constituents.
