T’BOLI, SOUTH COTABATO – Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian personally led a series of Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Barangay Lemslunon on Thursday, May 28.
The grassroots dialogue is part of the DSWD’s ongoing evaluation to assess the actual impact of the national poverty reduction program on the lives of beneficiary families, particularly in remote and indigenous communities.
During the interviews, beneficiaries shared firsthand accounts of how the conditional cash grants have augmented their health, nutrition, and educational needs. Alongside capturing these success stories, Secretary Gatchalian gathered policy and operational recommendations directly from the ground to further streamline and improve the implementation of the 4Ps program.
The discussions also mapped out the beneficiaries’ primary communication channels, identifying exactly where and how they receive official information regarding DSWD programs—critical data that will help the department strengthen its localized public information campaigns.
Data gathered from this field consultation will be brought back to the 4Ps National Program Management Office to help shape future programmatic enhancements.
