KORONADAL CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Mindanao announced Tuesday that they will conduct a search for the Regional Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya.
DSWD- 12 Regional Director Bai Zorahayda T. Taha said the search aims to recognize the beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program who demonstrate positive Filipino values.
At the same time, Dir. Taha said the search is open to all family beneficiaries of the program who have been enrolled for at least two years and have complied with all the requirements of the program.
“The competition will also showcase the stories of families who, despite the challenges brought about by poverty, are able to maintain strong family ties, demonstrate positive Filipino values and create a positive impact in their respective communities,” Dir. Taha said.
“We will have the provincial search and the top winners in the provincial category will automatically compete in the regional search. The winner of the regional search will represent the region in the national competition,” she said.
Emerita Dizon, DSWD’s chief administrative officer, said the Huwarang Pamilya must consist of the father and/or mother, which means solo parents are qualified and child/children.
“All provincial and regional winners will get cash prizes,” Dizon said.
For her part, Juliet Clavel, regional program coordinator, said beneficiaries should coordinate with their respective municipal links if they want to join in the search.
The regional search will be on July 13 and the awarding ceremony will be on Aug. 21 in this city.
In Region 12, more than 250,000 people are currently covered in the program that requires recipients to send children to public schools and mothers to regularly visit public health centers. (End)
