COTABATO CITY, May 11 – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 12 on Thursday said its employees and beneficiaries of the government’s signature anti poverty program would join this month’s forthcoming “Brigada Eskwela 2017” program of the Department of Education.
Bai Zorahayda T. Taha, DSWD 12 regional director, said they will mobilized through the help of field workers parent leaders of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program for the annual activity.
Brigada Eskwela is an annual voluntary effort of school and community members to do repairs and other maintenance work in school facilities in preparation for the upcoming school year.
“Our beneficiaries will go to different schools within their communities to help clean classrooms and the school grounds; repair chairs, ceilings, and tables; among others,” Taha said.
Region wide, the program that requires recipients to send children to public schools and mothers to regularly visit public health centers currently covers over 250,000 beneficiaries. (End)
