MAGUINDANAO – The Department of Social Welfare and Development filed office XII through the National Household Targeting Unit (NHTU) will start the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) activities namely: notification and registration of the Listahanan identified beneficiaries in the province of Maguindanao.
Sohra Pandi-Guialel, chief of the Policy and Plans Division together with the staff of NHTU assigned in Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao last March conducted the UCT-Listahanan orientation to the Local Social Welfare Officers and hired notifiers of the province.
In addition, a total of 138 notifiers were trained to do the notification and registration process of the identified beneficiaries. They were deployed to different areas in the province of Maguindanao to notify the 81,386 poor households as UCT-Listahanan beneficiaries,” said by Aminah P. Macodi, Regional Field Coordinator of BARMM-LaMa.
Breakdown of UCT-Listahanan beneficiaries BARMM- Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao (LaMa):
- Lanao del Sur – 96,222 households
- Maguindanao – 81,386 households
For the UCT notification and registration of the beneficiaries for the province of Lanao del Sur, the staff of NHTU is now closely coordinating with the local partners for the alignment and finalization of the activities. – Guialel ended.
The UCT refers to the social welfare benefit under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law or the Republic Act 10963. It seeks to provide cash grants to poor households and individuals for three consecutive years in the amount of PhP 200.00 per month in 2018; and PhP 300.00 per month in 2019 and 2020. ###
