General Santos City – The DSWD 12’s Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) gathered its 185 staff from the Area Coordinating Teams (ACT) and Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) for a three-day strategic session.

In a session with the ACTs and RPMO, John Kevin Camariñas, the Deputy Regional Program Manager (DRPM) restated one of the main objectives of the program to promote Community Driven Development as a key development approach and strategy in the community.

“Our major objective is to leverage CDD adoption at the LGU level. In order to do that we have to revisit our core and to strategize on the best way possible to achieve our goals.”

To equip the staff on Basic Community Organizing Dr. Mario J. Aguia, Ph. D., a Public Sociologist and Peace Advocate shared his expertise on the priniciples, ethics and qualities of organizing work.

“We need to organize people to empower”, he emphasized.

The Regional Director of DSWD XII, Loreto Jr. V. Cabaya, also attended the strategic planning seminar. He congratulated the team and encouraged everyone to collaborate even more effectively for better results.

Said seminar commenced on February 12, 2024.
