Polomolok, South Cotabato | The Department of Social Welfare and Development – 12 through its Social Pension Program awarded recently the P100,000 cash gift to each Centenarian here.

The identified Centenarians were: Teofila Escobal Gulay and Colita Almancion Ybañez both residents of Barangay Poblacion of the said town.

Along with the cash gift, they also received Letter of Felicitation from the President of the Philippines.

They also received P20,000 each from the Local Government of Polomolok handed over by town’s Mayor Bernie Palencia.

Ryan Balanza, Division Chief of the Protective Services Division, who represented DSWD12 Director Loreto Jr. Cabaya, highlighted the contributions of the centenarians.

“Ginabalik namun lantaw ang importansya kag nabulig ninyo sa aton pungsod kag tani damo pa nga mga centenarians ang magaan namun kag mapatilaw sang serbisyo sang national government pinaagi sa DSWD”.

Atty. Joel Ybañez, son of Colita Ybañez, thanked the agency’s services for the elderly and for valuing his 100-year old mother.

“Money and certificate mawala man ito, pero ang pag-value ninyo sa amuang inahan dili jud makalimtan. We appreciate always your kindness especially to the Office of the President, Salamat sa inyo tanan”, he said.

Records showed that there were 27 beneficiaries of Centenarian Program since 2016 in Municipality of Polomolok.

The said activity is in accordance with Republic Act 10868, also known as the Centenarians Act of 2016.
