More than two thousand families benefitted in two provinces today in the AKAP launching in order to provide safety nets to low income families due to increasing prices of goods and commodities in the market.
Loreto Jr. Cabaya, Regional Director of DSWD12 led the ceremonial launch of Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) together with Cotabato 1st District Representative, Hon. Joselito Sacdalan.
In a simultaneous event, 1139 low income individuals in Cotabato Province were set to receive a total of Php3000 financial assistance from the government.
Meanwhile in Sarangani, a total of 1000 beneficiaries were targetted to receive P3000 each from the province’s seven (7) towns.
Lourdes Mayores Conception, a resident of Libungan, Cotabato expressed gratefulness for the government’s assistance. She said, “Thank God dahil may estudyante ako na pwd din at makakatulong Ang ayuda pambili Ng Solar Light dahil walang kuryente sa tinitirhan nmin sa Brgy Sinapangan Libungan.”
Another beneficiary from Upper Glad 2 named Danilo Cortel also said, “Masaya ako at makakatulong sa kahirapan nmin ngayong krisis ang panahon at matugunan ang iba nmin pangangailangan kahit papano.”
In Sarangani, a “habal-habal” driver named Will Rubin thanked said assistance due to high prices of basic needs.
