Columbio, Sultan Kudarat – The Department of Social Welfare and Development XII through its Social Pension Program awarded a cash gift worth P100,000 to Grandmother Ginayungan M. Monsil of Barangay Poblacion, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat as she celebrates her 100th birthday today June 19, 2024.

Lola Ginayungan also received a Letter of Felicitation from the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The LGU of Columbio, spearheaded by Municipal Mayor Tondatu M. Mangudadatu, also handed over a P25,500 cash gift and 5 kilos of rice.

Mitch Gulmatico, PDO-I of Social Pension Program attended the awarding of the cash gift and Letter of Felicitation as agency representative.

Gulmatico emphasized that DSWD always value the welfare of the elderly sector especially those who achieved longer life.

The family promised to keep the money for the needs of Lola Ginayungan, especially for her medical needs.

The said activity is in accordance with Republic Act 10868, also known as the Centenarians Act of 2016, to honor every centenarian’s century-long contribution to the community. Senior citizens 100 years and above can avail of the Centenarian Program.
