General Santos City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 12 and Mindanao State University (MSU)- Gensan recently strengthened ties as KALAHI-CIDSS Cash for Work Program came to a close here with a culminating ceremony.

DSWD-12 Regional Director Loreto Jr. Cabaya lauded the partnership in the implementation of the program that provides the graduating and new graduates with temporary livelihood and on-the-job experience to various areas of assignment.

MSU-GenSan Chancellor JD Usman D. Aragasi expressed gratitude for DSWD-12’s support and highlighted the collaboration towards connecting students with local government units and other partner agencies.

Asec. Florentino Y. Loyola Jr. of the DSWD Specialized Programs emphasized the program’s role in providing income through work opportunities and pledged continued support for college students across all regions.

The event awarded the student-beneficiaries through recognition certificates as well as cash for work subsidies amounting 5,000 to 10,000 pesos each. (Alfonso Omani)
