DSWD 12 turns over 21 child development centers in Makilala under PDBBM-PAMANA Program
Makilala, Cotabato Province – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XII (DSWD FO XII), under the leadership of Regional Director Loreto V. Cabaya Jr., officially turned over 21 newly constructed Child Development Centers (CDCs) in Makilala, Cotabato as part of the Peace and Development: Buong Bansa Mapayapa (PDBBM) – PAMANA Program. With a total project cost of ₱16.8 million, the initiative reflects the government’s strong commitment to inclusive education and early childhood development.
The project was made possible through the support of key leaders and partner agencies, including DSWD Undersecretary for Inclusive and Sustainable Peace and Special Concerns Alan A. Tanjusay and Director Melvin C. Dayrit of the PDBBM-NPMO, in close coordination with the PAMANA Program and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU).
Located in 19 barangays—including Indangan, Luayon, Malabuan, New Baguio, and New Israel—the CDCs offer safe, accessible learning spaces for children aged 0 to 5. These centers support children’s holistic development and help parents, especially mothers, pursue livelihood opportunities knowing their children are in a nurturing environment.
“Each Child Development Center represents a future built on opportunity and inclusion,” said Usec. Tanjusay. “This project shows what’s possible when government programs work hand-in-hand with communities, bringing hope and progress to Makilala.”
