In a bid to tighten ties with local mayors following the new Secretary’s directives, DSWD regional chief Loreto Jr. V. Cabaya will soon complete its visits to towns and cities’ local chief executives.
Cabaya said Wednesday that Secretary Rex Gatchalian recently met regional directors and ordered them to be “on top of their game.”
Cabaya further said that he (Gatchalian) instructed them to visit all towns and cities in their area of responsibility and ensure good rapport with the LCE’s Including district representatives.
Director Cabaya already commenced his courtesy visit on February 7, 2023 in Tantangan, South Cotabato while in attendance to the Barangay Cabuling’s founding anniversary. Cabaya was joined by town’s Mayor Timee Gonzales and thanked the lady executive for the continuous support to DSWD programs.
On same day, Cabaya signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Palimbang Mayor Joenime Kapina for the prepositioning of relief goods to ensure faster and efficient delivery of goods and services especially in disaster-prone areas.
He also visited Tacurong Mayor Joseph George Lechonsito in his office at the City Hall to discuss how they can improve quick response in times of crisis.
Meanwhile, on February 8, Cabaya had a courtesy call with GenSan Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao.
Pacquiao disclosed affirmation for the proposed shelter for the Crisis Intervention Unit Satellite GenSan Office while forecasting a one-stop shop for her constituents.
Cabaya is set to visit other LCEs and district reps on the following days.
