Koronadal City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development 12 recently spread out blue balloons to some agency employees as part of the blue heart campaign that signifies putting an end to all forms of human trafficking.
The campaign encouraged involvement of governments, civil society, the corporate sector and individuals alike to inspire action and help prevent human trafficking.
Ryan Balanza, chief of Protective Services Division said, “the blue heart also symbolizes solidarity while showing cold-heartedness against those who buy and sell their fellow human beings.”
The World Day against Trafficking is celebrated every 30th day of July.
As of January this year, a total of 26 cases were reported on human trafficking while the agency provided assistance to the victims-survivors.
