Malapatan, Sarangani – DSWD Field Office XII remains steadfast in its commitment to providing ongoing support to families affected by the November 2023 earthquake.

Since January 18, 2024, the office has been conducting Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) payouts, addressing the urgent needs of families with totally and partially damaged houses.

Today, January 25, initially scheduled as the final day of distribution, stands as a crucial point in the continued efforts to assist those impacted.

The office has successfully served a total of 5,112 families. 439 families in total for totally damaged houses and 4,663 families for partially damaged.

Regrettably, despite today being the originally scheduled final day of distribution, 353 families remain unserved as of the latest update.

DSWD XII acknowledges that the unpaid or unserved status is primarily due to beneficiaries not claiming or showing up during the payout.

Intensive efforts are underway to expedite the distribution process, working closely with local authorities and partner organizations to extend support to the remaining families awaiting assistance.
