General Santos City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) distributed salaries to 513 beneficiaries of the Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay-Cash-For-Work for State Universities and Colleges (KKB-CFW for SUCs) program here.

The program, funded by Senator Imee Marcos, provides temporary work and income to fresh graduates and on-the-job trainees from Mindanao State University (MSU) while they search for permanent employment.

The 513 beneficiaries received a total of P 4,414, 792, covering their April service.

Bersima Gampal, a beneficiary from General Santos City who worked at the MSU Cultural and Events, said the program helped her develop her skills and professionalism.

“As a college student, nakakatulong talaga siya aside from sumasahod, nai-enhance pa po ‘yong skills namin,” she added.

According to Camelia A. Taha, Regional Program Coordinator of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) aside from MSU, Sultan Kudarat State University and University of Southern Mindanao is expected to join the program.

Mas maganda kapag lalawak ang programang ito dahil marami tayong matutulungan. Maaari rin itong maging sagot sa kakulangan ng experience ng ating mga fresh grads at college students, Taha emphasized.
