Tacurong City — The critical importance of collaboration between the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region XII and various Water Districts within the region was underscored today during the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) held in Tacurong City.
Present during the event were DSWD XII Dir. Loreto Jr. Cabaya and Engr. Edgar Pulmones, President of Socemwic, along with General Managers from various Water Districts across Region XII. This landmark agreement aims to ensure the availability of adequate potable water supplies during disasters, providing much-needed support to affected families.
This initiative aims to address one of the most critical needs of disaster-affected families—potable water.
In his speech, RD Cabaya expressed his enthusiasm for the continued partnership between DSWD and the water districts. “Water is essential during disasters, especially since DSWD leads the response and provides relief to affected families. That’s why the partnership between DSWD and the Water District is so important,” he stated.
This MOA marks a vital step in enhancing disaster preparedness and response capabilities in the region, ensuring that communities have access to essential resources during emergencies.
