ILIGAN CITY (May 27, 2014)— DSWD 12 thru NHTU trained thirty two (32)more field workers for Lanao Del Sur SOCPEN and MCCT special validation.

The final batch of trainees to be deployed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 12 thru its National Household Targeting Unit (NHTU) for the special validation has just undergone a drill which helped equip them for the actual house to house visit and interview in rural and urban areas of the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Out of the thirty two (32) workers assigned for the Lanao cluster, fourteen (14) are assigned to Social Pension (SOCPEN) program meanwhile eighteen (18) are assigned to the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT) with the following breakdown, two (2) field staff will be designated as Area Supervisors (AS) and twelve (12) will be Enumerators (ENs) for SOCPEN meanwhile for MCCT, three (3) AS will supervise a total of thirteen (13) ENs. All of which are local residents of the province.

The three-day training ran from May 25-27, 2014 in Crystal Inn function hall, Iligan City.

Apparently, the NHTU for provinces of Lanao Del Sur and Maguindanao (LaMa) are mainstreamed to DSWD field office 12.

Consequently, apart from the forty five (45) municipalities and five (5) cities in region 12, seventy five (75) municipalities and one city under ARMM are also part of the coverage of DSWD 12.

Accordingly, NHTU Project Development Officers (PDO) IV fronts the Listahanan operations, Aminah Macodi for ARMM-LaMa and Ashraf Dirampatan for Region 12. Both PDO’s summon the vigilance of the public against field workers who will be found not performing their tasks either as Area Supervisors or Enumerators.

The two make sure that they emphasize among the soon-to-be field workers the significance of honesty in developing a credible Listahanan database.

Listahanan is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor are nationwide. Anti-poverty programs such as Conditional cash Transfer (CCT) and Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) based their beneficiaries on the said database. End (###)
