The Department of Social Welfare and Development being the lead agency in social protection to set standards, register, license, accredit and provide consultative services to organizations involved in social welfare and development activities. DSWD’s role in executing the regulatory and quality assurance that enables in developing and maintaining the standards of a high performing, proactive and supportive partners in the delivery of social welfare and development programs and services.
The DSWD endeavors to develop, implement and coordinate social protection and poverty reduction solution for and with the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged so that we would have a society where they are empowered to have an improved quality of life.

DSWD Field Office 12 awards the certificate of registration & license to operate, and certificate of accreditation to Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs), Senior Citizen’s Center, Pre-Marriage Counselors and Social Worker Managing Court Cases.
