KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato, May 9 – The government intensified efforts to reduce poverty among residents covered by Conditional Cash Transfer in North Cotabato.

Benilda Cortez, provincial link of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, reported Tuesday that around 50 selected parent leaders in Makilala town attended last month Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Training facilitated by the Department of Trade and Industry.

Cortez also cited 30 beneficiaries from Nalapaan, Pikit town were trained on Basic Literacy Program of Department of Education’s Alternative Learning System while 19 beneficiaries Banisilan town were trained on Flower Arrangement, Table Skirting and Manicure/Pedicure/ Haircutting.

“In adherence to our director’s marching order to improve the lives of our beneficiaries towards self-sufficiency status, we continuously facilitated different social services and interventions,” Cortez said

“And these interventions include trainings, relief and livelihood assistance and other services that are provided in coordination with partner stakeholders,” she added.

Juliet Clavel, regional program coordinator, said the agency is looking forward all the trainings will soon contribute to facilitate access to better life of the people. (End)
