SOCCSKSARGEN – The Listahanan of the Department of Social Welfare and Development targets 19,508 households for On-Demand Application and Validation.

Maslama B. Hassan, Regional Field Coordinator of Region XII said: “We target to finish the ODA this second quarter of the year. The coverage is based on the Exclusion (EX02)* complaints received during the Validation Phase and those Households who were not visited during the Data Collection Phase”.

The Target Households for ODA is:

  • Cotabato City – 9,799 Households
  • North Cotabato – 3,074 Households
  • Sultan Kudarat – 2,918 Households
  • South Cotabato – 2,762 Households
  • Sarangani – 955 Households

On-Demand Application (ODA) provides an opportunity for households who were not assessed during the regular enumeration to apply for an assessment. The targets of this activity are those households in areas covered by Region and who believed that they are poor but have not been included in the previously conducted household assessment.

In addition, “there will be hired 9 Area Supervisors, 43 Field Enumerators, 16 Encoders and 16 Verifiers to compliment the workforce of the Region” Maslama said.

Director Bai Zorahayda T. Taha shared the result of the 2nd round nationwide household assessment of Listahanan during the launching last July of 2016 especially the Identified Households in Region 12. Listahanan assessment shows that there are 358,132 poor households in SOCCSKSARGEN: North Cotabato – 136,957; Cotabato City – 12,443; Sarangani – 55,267; South Cotabato – 77,599; and Sultan Kudarat – 75,866.

 Listahanan, also known as the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), is an information management system that identifies who, where and how many poor are nationwide.
