Maguindanao del Sur – In a continuing effort to assist communities affected by the aftermath of flooding last June, the Department of Social Welfare and Development XII successfully completed the Day 2 Cash-for-Work payout in the province of Maguindanao del Sur. This program not only aims to alleviate financial burdens but also to restore hope and stability for the affected beneficiaries.
On the initial day of payout yesterday, August 10,2023, DSWD XII staff served 4,993 residents and beneficiaries from the Ampatuan and Datu Salibo municipalities, both of which were significantly impacted by flash floods. This first phase underscored the department’s commitment to prompt and effective aid distribution to those in need.
Today, on the second day of the initiative, the program extended its assistance to a target of 3,443 beneficiaries. These beneficiaries will receive 3,410 pesos each where it represent a ray of hope for the residents of Datu Piang and Datu Saudi Ampatuan municipalities as they continue their journey towards recovery.
One beneficiary, Muslimin Makuyag, expressed his gratitude, saying, “This assistance from DSWD XII has truly been a lifeline for us. We are deeply thankful for this helping hand in our time of need.”
The Cash-for-Work program serves as a reminder of the government’s steadfast dedication to its citizens’ well-being.
Present during the 2-day payout were DSWD XII Director Loreto Cabaya Jr. and Maguindanao del Sur Gov. Bai Mariam Sangki Mangudadato.
