Koronadal City – Two centenarians from South Cotabato and another one in Sultan Kudarat recently receive a total cash of P100,000 each from DSWD XII, as part of the provisions of Centenarian Law.

The awardees were: Apolonia Valdez from Barangay San Jose in Koronadal City, Antonio Manipon of Polomolok, South Cotabato and Jainal Ansa of Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.

Labinia Sarao, DSWD12 focal on senior citizens said that the identified beneficiaries have already undergone review of documents and have passed the validation activity after LGU recommendation.

Vina Varona, staff of social pension program read the Certificate of Commendation to said centenarians signed by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

The provision of centenarian gift is mandated by RA 10868 which entitles all Filipinos who reached the age of 100 and above.

The gift-giving was also attended by local social welfare officers, senior citizens association representatives and office of senior citizens affairs heads.
