Tantangan, South Cotabato – A 9-month construction project serving as a safe place for children in Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC) is currently underway here in Purok Nursery, Brgy. Maibo with a budget of P33.9 million.
Director Loreto Jr. V. Cabaya of DSWD XII together with his Assistant Regional Directors Bonifacio V. Selma Jr. and Hadja Bailano Salik led the ground breaking ceremony with the presence of Tantangan town mayor Timee Joy Torres-Gonzales and Maibu captain Jose Cabayao.
The new facility has a bed capacity of 40 children inside a small-home configuration, giving those residents a comfortable living with new features such as therapy pool, study room and quarters for boys, among others.
The ceremony was also attended by Maria Corazon Sumikad, Acting Assistant Regional Director for Administration of DSWD Field Office IX to express her support to the said activity.
RSCC XII is a 24-hour residential facility that provides social work interventions providing protection and rehabilitation services through temporary residential care to neglected, abandoned, abused and exploited children and those with special needs.
