Sultan Kudarat – In an ongoing effort to enhance disaster preparedness, three Local Government Units (Kalamansig,Lebak,Bagumbayan) in Sultan Kudarat sought technical assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XII.
The aim was to conduct a comprehensive 3-day Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) training from August 29 to 31 in Lebak, aligning with RA 10121 guidelines.
Guided by the Disaster Response Management Division’s (DRMD) expert trainers, the training focused on preparatory activities and the MDRRMO members’ roles. This encompassed the entire spectrum of camp management, from establishing camps to their eventual closure, with emphasis on the demobilization process.
The participants included personnel from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), MDRRMO, Barangay Officials, Medical practitioners, and various other roles.
Last Aug. 7-9, the office also conducted the same activity in the Local Government Unit of Noralah.
As the driving force behind Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Protection, DSWD XII ensures the safety of internally displaced women and children, facilitating their access to essential resources during times of humanitarian crisis. (JDD/DRMD)
