Cotabato Province – The Department of social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through its Sustainable livelihood program continues to distribute livelihood grants to 29 qualified individuals, both referred and walk-in clients, in Cotabato Province on October 6, 2023.
These eligible individuals were referred to the program by a wide range of sources, including government entities, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and individuals who reached out to the SLP’s national or regional management office.
Present during the distribution was the Regional Director of DSWD XII, Loreto Jr. V. Cabaya, who provided reminders to the qualified beneficiaries on the effective utilization of the livelihood grants.
“Ang kapital na ito ay mula sa taong bayan. Naway maging huwaran tayo at gamitin ito ng maayos,” said RD Cabaya.
Abonario Bawalan from the Municipality of President Roxas, one of the beneficiaries, expressed his gratitude after receiving his grant.
“Maraming salamat po. Hindi-hindi niyo po pagsisihan na binigyan niyo kami ng tulong. Amin po itong iingatan,” expressed Bawalan.
Cotabato Governor, Emmylou “Lala” Taliño Mendoza through her Social Welfare and Development head Arleen Timson, who graced the distribution activity said, “Huwag po natin sayangin ang tulong na ito. Ito’y pagkakataon na mabago ang inyong buhay.”
The Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) is a DSWD’s flagship capacity-building program, aimed at improving the socio-economic status of poor, vulnerable, and marginalized households and communities.
