Glan, Sarangani – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 12 recently turned over a barangay road project amounting to P1,152,855.39 (total project cost), benefiting not only households in the project area but also other nearby areas in Barangay Taluya, Glan, Sarangani.
The 130 linear-meter road project is part of the government’s disaster response projects under the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) Disaster Response Operations Modality.
The local government has also provided a local counterpart contribution amounting to ₱23,500.
Based on the KALAHI-CIDSS data, the road concreting project has listed 131 actual household beneficiaries in the situated area alone.
The paved road, will make it easier for the farmers and vegetable growers to transport their product to the market and will provide students easier access going to school. It will also enable health authorities to respond to the needs of the community.
