Kiamba, Sarangani Province – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region XII, in a proactive move towards disaster preparedness, took part in the 3rd quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill during the Cash-for-Work payout event in Kiamba, Sarangani Province.

The drill was conducted to ensure the safety of both DSWD staff and beneficiaries while promoting disaster awareness and readiness.

Traditionally, earthquake drills are conducted within the confines of office settings. However, the DSWD XII decided to introduce a change by organizing the drill during a Cash-for-Work payout event.

This strategic decision aimed to create a more realistic scenario, emphasizing that disasters like earthquakes can strike anytime, anywhere.
