Koronadal City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development through Undersecretary for Innovations Eduardo M. Punay and Regional Director Loreto Jr V. Cabaya inked a memorandum of Understanding today for government’s flagship Food Stamp Program or FSP.
The FSP that aims to decrease incidence of voluntary hunger among low-income households will execute pilot implementation in Parang, Maguindanao Del Norte, a pilot municipality in BARMM with 150 beneficiaries.
Parang Mayor Cahar P. Ibay signed said MOU and committed to support and assist the DSWD in endorsing the program to the Barangays identified as potential beneficiary.
The program provides food assistance through Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards that can be used in redemption of select food commodities from eligible partner merchant stores and Kadiwa stores.
Beneficiaries will be obliged to attend nutrition education prior to redemption of their assistance.
