Glan, Sarangani Province – The agency’s earthquake relief operations here are now fully response-ready as DSWD12 sets up its Mobile Storage Unit (MSU).
Regional Director of DSWD12 Loreto Jr. Cabaya expressed appreciation on the said facility that houses today more than 10,000 family food packs, 539 family kits and 540 kitchen kits.
With MSU, Director Cabaya assured the public of the agency’s readiness to accommodate augmentation requests from most-affected areas in Saranggani.
RD Cabaya thanked the World Food Programme for lending its storage facility.
Elsa Dora Bautista, head of Regional Resource Operations Section said that the prepositioned goods in Glan will provide easier access to relief aid in cases when unstable earthquake aftershocks will strike the province.
Bautista said, “Glan is the last coastal town in this side of Sarangani. Whenever breakdown of roads and bridges happen, the MSU can sustain needs of victims.”
