General Santos City – President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr. visited earthquake-affected families in General Santos and Sarangani, accompanied by DSWD Sec. Rex Gatchalian, Senator Manny Pacquiao, NDRRMC Chair and DND Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., DSWD XII Dir. Loreto Jr. V Cabaya, Sarangani Governor Ruel Pacquiao, and General Santos Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao.
President Marcos Jr. extended solidarity to 71 families in General Santos and 135 families in Sarangani, whose homes were damaged by the earthquakes. These families received immediate assistance, including cash aid, food packs, and family support kits.
Moreover, 2,000 members of transport groups in the affected regions were also provided with essential cash aid and food packs.
Expressing the government’s commitment, President Marcos Jr. stated, “It is our duty to respond promptly to the needs of our fellow Filipinos during crisis. We stand united with the affected communities, ensuring immediate assistance and support.”
