Tulunan, Cotabato / Isulan, Sultan Kudarat – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XII Director, Loreto Jr. Cabaya spearheaded the distribution of family food packs in Tulunan, Cotabato to aid families affected by the El Niño phenomenon.

Simultaneously, a distribution was conducted in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, reaching a total of 3,175 families across both provinces. The relief efforts were targeted at providing immediate assistance to those severely impacted by the El Niño particularly farmers and informal workers.

In Barangay Sampao, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, more than 1,025 beneficiaries received family food packs as part of the relief assistance.

Myrna Basid, one of the beneficiaries, expressed her gratitude, stating, “Malaking tulong po ang food packs na ito para sa aming pamilya lalo na sa panahon gaya ngayon. Nagpapasalamat kami sa DSWD at sa lahat ng mga tumulong.”

Meanwhile, in Tulunan, Cotabato, the distribution reached 2,150 beneficiaries across various barangays with the following breakdown: Bual (1,500),Tuburan (139), Popoyon (372), Batang (139).

The distribution events were attended by local officials from the respective municipalities, staff from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) of Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat, and Disaster Response Chief Naira Aratuc, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of aid to the affected families.
